The surface of each salver is encircled with impressive shaped band of flat chased scrolling decoration accented with interlacing vine and foliate ornamentation.
The shaped raised borders are encircled with exceptional applied and chased fruiting vine ornamentation incorporating large scallop shell designs in addition to scale textures, all in the Rococo style.
The salvers are supported by four impressive pierced scrolling feet, each embellished with an applied grape clusters and single leaf motif.
The underside of each salver bears the original item numbers 5 and 6*, in addition to the original scratch weights of 13.6 troy ounces; as to be expected the measured weight has subtly diminished in keeping with age to 13.3 troy ounces.
These impressive Georgian silver salvers were crafted by the most revered and collectable London silversmith Paul de Lamerie.
These magnificent salvers are the finest quality of their type you could hope to acquire.
* This pair is a segment of a more extensive service, which through time has been divided.
Width across corners 17.9cm/7"
Width of surface 12.5cm/4.9"
Height to top of border 3.5cm/1.4"

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of antique Georgian silverware.
