A handsome early English sterling silver mug with a baluster shape on a spreading foot. Good plain style typical of the period. Excellent colour and weight. To the front there is a large hand engraved monogram, in old fashioned script, within a decorative cartouche. Engraved underneath are the original owners initials. Contains 570 ml. Weight 444 grams, 14.2 troy ounces. Height 12.2 cms. Diameter of top 8.75 cms. London 1742. Maker Francis Crump.
This early English silver mug is in very good condition. No damage or restoration. Excellent colour. Good weight. The hand engraved monogram and cartouche are still crisp. The silver marks underneath are clear and easy to read.
