The body of this impressive Georgian beer jug is plain and unembellished.
This impressive example of antique silverware is fitted with an S scroll handle ornamented with a leaf decorated thumbpiece and scrolling lower terminal.
The sparrow beak spout of this antique silver jug is embellished with a vase-shaped moulding with a drop form to the nadir.
The surface of the jug has a fine colour and patination*.
By virtue of its size and style, this versatile jug could be used as a water jug.
* Patination or Patina is a subtle colouration or tarnish which forms on the surface of some metals, produced by oxidation or other chemical processes. A good patina proffers an aesthetically pleasing look.
