The surface of the salver is ornamented with a fine and impressive contemporary bright cut engraved marital coat of arms pertaining to Tower and Tash*.
The raised rounded Chippendale style shaped border is embellished with fine and impressive applied scrolling decoration to the rim accented with alternating fluted shell designs.
This large salver is supported by four exceptional cast hoof style feet ornamented with shaped shell ornamentation below a simplified volute scrolling leaf design.
The underside of the salver bears the original scratch weight 104.5 troy ounces; as to be expected the measured weight has subtly diminished in keeping with age to 100 troy ounces.
This magnificent salver was crafted by the prominent salver specialist and renowned London silversmith William Peaston.
The salver is displayed with a four piece tea and coffee service for illustrative purposes only - the service (A3739) may be purchased separately from the AC Silver inventory.
* Further detailed heraldry information is available on request.
