The well of this fine Georgian dish is plain and unembellished.
The shaped border is ornamented with a fine and impressive contemporary bright cut engraved coat of arms depicting a chevron between three eagles displayed.
The border is further embellished with impressive applied tied reed decorated border accented with a scrolling leaf motif to each incurve.
The underside of this collectable serving dish bears the original item numbers 15*, in addition to the original scratch weights of 44.14 troy ounces; as to be expected the measured weight has subtly diminished in keeping with age to 42.2 troy ounces.
This Georgian dish was crafted by the most revered and collectable London silversmith Paul de Lamerie, subsequently R & S Garrard & Co.
* This piece is a segment of a more extensive table service incorporating dishes, trays and platters; through time the service will have been divided.
Diameter of well 24cm/9.4"
42.2 troy ounces/1314g
