The cylindrical capital is encircled with bands of tooled decoration.
The waisted section of the knopped column features a hexafoil shaped knop ornamented with six shell decoration.
This Georgian taper candlestick is supported by a hexafoil shaped base embellished with a shell motif to each convexity.
This taperstick does not have a weighted base.
The taper candlestick has been crafted by the renowned and collectable London silversmith John Café.

Diameter of capital 1.6cm/0.6"

The maker’s mark, assay mark and date letter of the full hallmarks struck to the underside of the candlestick are all clear; the lion passant however has been lost in the casting, which is not uncommon.
