Antique George III Sterling Silver and Glass Centrepiece
Offered by AC Silver
The main receiver has an oval form embellished with a band of pierced decorated evolute spiral foliate designs, accented with feature rosettes.
This receiver is fitted with two impressive cast, chased and applied ram's head ring handles.
The four tapering, splayed legs are ornamented to the upper portion with chased leaf decoration, and stippled decoration to the lower portion, terminating with cloven hoof style feet.
This impressive and original silver centrepiece retains the four original, detachable, hallmarked arms, embellished with applied and chased water leaf decoration, accented with two rosettes at the junction with each circular receiver.
The hallmarked arms insert discreetly into the vertical supports.
Each receiver retains the original miter and primatic cut glass bowl with star cut base.
The impressive central dish is oval in shape, with a deep well and shaped rim.
This exceptional centrepiece is in its original condition; such fine examples are becoming increasingly rare to the market.
