The lower portion of the body is embellished with embossed fluted decoration with a plain, paralleling convex border.
The upper portion is encompassed with a bright cut engraved and pin struck undulating border and vertebrate band.
The decoration to the body incorporates the bright cut engraved initial 'L'.
The flared rim is ornamented with an applied gadroon decorated border.
This impressive example of Georgian silverware is fitted with an angular handle ornamented with plain applied moulded decoration.
The interior of the jug bears the original gilding.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the spout are all very clear; the first portion of the maker's mark has wear in keeping with age and location.
