The surface of the salver is ornamented with the fine and impressive engraved initials ‘CERB’ below an engraved crest depicting a fleur de lis.
The raised shaped border is embellished with applied scrolling decoration to the rim accented with shell designs to each alternating incurve.
This antique salver is supported by four impressive hoof style feet.
The underside of the salver bears further engraved initials ‘SW’ to the centre in addition to an encircled later engraved presentation inscription: ‘The Jubilee of the Great Jubilee Handicap run at Kempton Park 8th May, 1937, won by Mr Neal Christey's Commander III, aged 8st 9lb trained by Capt. C. F Elsey, ridden by H. Wragg’.
This impressive salver was crafted by the same maker and bears the same presentation inscription as the pint and a half mug W9587.
