The body of the teapot is embellished with flower and scroll chased decoration incorporating two scroll decorated vacant cartouches.
The shoulders of the teapot are encircled with an applied scroll decorated border.
This antique teapot is fitted with a flush hinged hallmarked domed cover which retains the original leaf and bud shaped finial.
The cover is embellished with four chased decorated floral and leaf motifs.
The teapot is fitted with an impressive ribbed C scroll handle with volute scroll decorated terminals and an applied acanthus leaf decorated thumbpiece.
The swan necked spout is ornamented with a large ribbed and scrolling leaf design to the underside, in addition to a single leaf ornamentation to the lip.
The spout has a scalloped shaped socket further embellished with chased leaf decoration.
Unusually, this George IV teapot has been hallmarked to the rim as opposed to the underside of the foot.
