The surface of the mustard pot is plain with an applied moulded border to the rim.
This Britannia silver mustard pot is fitted with a domed hinged hallmarked cover surmounted with an impressive pierced decorated lobed thumbpiece.
This fine antique mustard pot has an impressive S scroll silver handle ornamented with applied moulded decoration.
The mustard pot retains the original removable blue glass liner.
The underside of this impressive mustard pot bears the retailer's mark 'Heming & Co, Conduit St, London'
* Britannia Silver - The Britannia silver standard of 958 (95.84% of fine silver), denoted by the icon of the seated Britannia holding an oval shield, was introduced by William III in 1697. This was to indicate the slightly higher standard of silver from sterling silver standard of 925 (92.5% of fine silver).
