This fine antique George V sterling silver trowel has a rounded triangle shaped blade.

The anterior face of the blade is ornamented with fine and impressive bright cut engraved scrolling leaf decoration accented with floral motifs to the lower portion accented with a simple undulating wrigglework border paralleling the blade and incorporating a floral design to the tip.

The reverse surface of the blade is plain, apart from the full hallmarks.

This antique trowel retains the original fine and impressive carved ivory handle.

The original hallmarked ferrule is encircled with bands of bead decoration, to a cast and applied lobed decorated leaf style bolster.

This impressive ceremonial silver trowel is fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box with satin and velvet lined interior, securing with two hinged catch.

This antique ceremonial silver trowel is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition in keeping with age.

The presentation box is in excellent condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

There is some natural crazing to the handle in keeping with age; this does not affect the integrity of the piece.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the trowel are all very clear.

The part hallmarks to the ferrule have wear in keeping with age and location.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
