An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique George V English sterling silver straight Old English pattern flatware service for six persons; an addition to our antique silver flatware collection

The pieces of this exceptional, straight* sterling silver cutlery set for six persons have been crafted in the Old English pattern.

The anterior surface of each fork handle and the reverse surface of each spoon handle features a pip to the terminal.

Each spoon bears a plain rounded heel to the reverse of the bowl.

This antique sterling silver cutlery set for 6 consists of 44 pieces:

Basic Service:
6 Table knives
6 Table forks
6 Table spoons
6 Dessert knives
6 Dessert forks
6 Dessert spoons
6 Teaspoons

Additional Pieces:
Pair of sauce ladles

The fundamental pieces of this silver cutlery set have been crafted by the Sheffield silversmith James Dixon & Sons Ltd in 1922, apart from the table and dessert knives, which are replacements**; the components will have been crafted in the same year but due to the hallmarking system the items are struck with the date letters d and e.

These impressive examples of antique silverware are supplied in felt cutlery rolls; which not only protect the items in storage but significantly reduces tarnishing.

* "Straight" means all the pieces are made by the same maker in the same year.

** Predominately all antique silver canteens have replacement knives as the originals have not stood the test of time.
