This exceptional antique George V sterling silver fish flatware set for twelve persons consists of twelve fish knives and twelve fish forks.

The blade of each knife has a broad sabre shaped form and the forks have three tines.

The surface of each fork and knife blade is plain and unembellished, apart from the feature hallmarks.

Each piece of this service is fitted with a plain pistol grip handle ornamented with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest displaying a dragon's head couped, holding in the mouth an axe.

The handle to each piece is not filled; the solid sterling silver handles indicate the fine quality of this service.

Each piece is fitted to the fine and impressive original hinged oak canteen box with a lift up lid and lift out tray.

The interior of the box retains the original velvet and satin lining, incorporating the retailer's mark 'By appointment to H. M. The King, The Goldsmiths Silversmiths Company LTD, 112 Regent ST London, W'.

This impressive canteen box is ornamented with brass fittings, including a vacant shield shaped cartouche and escutcheon.

The original presentation box features an inset panels to the interior rim displaying the renowned maker's and retailer's mark 'Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company LTD' and '112, Regent Street, London, W'.

This antique fish service has been crafted in a standard, classic design and could be associated with an Old English pattern canteen of cutlery.

This antique fish flatware set is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition.

Each component has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The presentation box has been professionally polished by a cabinet maker; there is a surface crack to the lid, this does not affect the integrity of the piece.

The bright cut engraved crests are all very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the anterior surface of each piece are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of each item of antique silverware.
