The surface of the teapot is plain and encompassed with bands of applied and thread decorated ornamentation below the swept shoulders.
This impressive teapot is fitted with a plain domed, hinged hallmarked cover.
The cover is surmounted with the original panelled carved wood and sterling silver finial reflecting the incurved shape of the body; this secures to the interior of the cover with a screw fitment.
The teapot retains the original carved painted wood angular handle, with a plain scrolling thumbpiece and impressive scrolling upper socket.
This fine example of antique teaware has an impressive swan necked spout.
