The surface of this Art Deco inkwell is plain and unembellished.
The stand retains the original hallmarked pen supports ornamented with scrolling fluted terminals.
This impressive stand is fitted with the original detachable hallmarked sterling silver inkpot receiver, embellished with an applied moulded border.
The receiver retains the original cut glass ink pot with hallmarked cylindrical silver mount and fitted with a hinged hallmarked iconic Art Deco cushion shaped, stepped cover.
The cover opens to reveal the removable glass ink liner.
The impressive glass body of the inkpot is embellished with faceted corners.
The stand is supported by four cast and applied sterling silver fluted feet accented with iconic Art Deco style elevated terminal, in junction with the body.
Both the pen supports and inkpot receiver secure to the underside with screw fitments.
The underside of the stand bears the retailer's mark 'Mappin & Webb Ltd'
