The anterior and posterior covers are embellished with engine turned decoration.
The decoration to the anterior cover incorporates an engraved scene depicting two male mallard ducks, one in flight and one with wings risen standing in water amidst reeds and grass.
The sides of each cover of this antique cigarette case are encompassed with further engine turned decoration.
This case is fitted with a push fit catch, which when released reveals two hinged compartments.
The anterior cover of the case bears the original engraved presentation inscription 'Surg Lt I Miskelly, Stormont, Dumfries.', and the other is fitted with the original retaining strap.
