The anterior and posterior surface of each handle is embellished with a simple border incorporating blossom/rose and leaf ornamentation to either side of the handpiece.
The soup ladle retains the original gilded interior.

The hallmarks struck to each component of this antique service, including the original knives, consists of:
Maker's mark: KH (Karl Hohmann)
Silver quality/purity mark: .800 (800/1000)
National mark: Crescent moon and crown
The blade of each knife bears the German word ‘Rostfrei’, which translates as ‘Stainless’.
This impressive German silver cutlery set is fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with a lift out tray.
The interior of the box bears a satin and velvet lined interior and the cover secures with two push fit catches.
* "Straight" means all the pieces are made by the same maker in the same year.

The cover to the box is missing one hinged latch and no longer sits flush when closed; this impressive box can be considered in very good presentation condition, in keeping with age.
Each component of this German silver cutlery has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.
The pattern decoration is very sharp.
