This exceptional antique German silver gilt dessert service for twenty-four persons consist of twenty-four knives and twenty-four forks and twenty-four spoons

The blades of the knives have a broad incurved shaped form, each ornamented with an impressive engraved simplified leaf design; these knives are a combination of two sizes.

The anterior and posterior surface of the shaft of each spoon and fork is embellished with engraved tapering panel of ribbed decoration.

Each fork is further ornamented with a pierced decorated heart to the drop, encompassed with a continuation of engraved decoration from the shaft.

The reverse of the spoon bowl is ornamented with a simplified engraved leaf decorated spray to the heel.

Each piece is fitted with the original, fine and impressive carved mother of pearl handle ornamented with an elaborate embossed leaf decorated terminal.

The handles are further ornamented with embossed palmette style ornamentation to the upper portion of each handpiece, below a lobed ferrule.

The surface of this German silver dessert flatware retains the original gilding.

This fine dessert service is fitted to the original hinged oak wood box with two lift out trays and velvet lined interior.

This antique presentation canteen box features a brass escutcheon and a vacant shield shaped cartouche to the cover.

National mark: Crescent moon and crown
