The surface of the body is encircled with a central undulating embossed and chased decorated scene depicting characters on both foot and horseback hunting iconic wild Indian animals, including elephants, lions and deer.
The decoration to the body incorporates two prominent bordered episodes depicting a hunter accompanied by dogs attacking two buffalo-style animals to one side, and two hooded figures combatting with a bear to the other.
The lower portion of this Indian bowl is encompassed with impressive embossed and chased decorated scrolling leaf designs alternating with lobed naturalistic designs.
The flared rim is embellished with impressive embossed and chased scroll bordered cartouches in addition to scroll, floral and foliate designs and circular motifs, all on a matt background.
The shaped, undulating rim is encompassed with a plain applied moulded border.
The foot of this impressive bowl is ornamented with further scrolling leaf decoration on a subtly matt background.
