The surface of each piece is embellished with chased decoration reproducing the details of the fox’s coat and snarling facial features.
Each antique fox is further ornamented with bead eyes.
The hallmarks struck to the interior of the ear and underside of each impressive table ornament includes:
Importer’s mark: BHM (B Muller & Son (Berthold Muller))
Import mark: London, England
Import date mark: i (1924)
Silver quality/purity mark: .925, .935 (sterling standard *)
Maker’s mark: BM (B Muller & Son (Berthold Muller))
These antique fox table ornaments are exceptional examples of their type; ornaments of this quality, in such fine condition, are becoming increasingly scarce.
* The country of origin hallmarked this item with the standard mark 935 and once imported into Britain the silver purity was tested and hallmarks struck reaffirming the silver is a minimum of sterling standard.
