The handle is embellished with a fine and impressive contemporary bright cut engraved crest displaying a demi-lion below the motto ‘Sember Vigilans’ - always vigilant/watchful*.
The shaped blade is embellished with impressive pin struck decorated undulating borders accented with a band of bright cut engraved leaf ornamentation paralleling the incurved edge.
The centre of the blade is embellished with a fine and impressive pierced and pin struck decorated two-tier scalloped design encompassing an engraved stylised salmon/fish motif.
The reverse surface of this impressive example of Scottish silverware is plain and unembellished.
This impressive silver fish slice was crafted by the provincial Aberdeen silversmith William Jamieson.
* This crest pertains to the Wilson Clan, which is widely spread throughout Scotland.
