A substantial presentation cycling trophy with a large art nouveau style silver plaque mounted onto a heavy oak wood shield. Presented to the Watford Wheelers CC by Freeman Hardy and Willis Ltd, the shoe retailers, in 1903. To the centre there is an engraved scene of a cycling championship and around the outside there are 13 small silver plaques, 1 with the insignia of WWCC, 7 with the winners from 1903 -1909, the other 5 little shields are blank. Height 60 cms. Width 46 cms. Large plaque hallmarked for London 1903, maker Charles Boynton.
