A fine pair of antique sterling silver candle holders with petal bases in the style of the Georgian silversmith John Café. Excellent very heavy quality. Detchable nozzles. Filled bases. Stamped around the base with the scratch weight 35.0 troy ounces (1,088 grams approx) for the pair. Height 21.25 cms. Diameter of base 16 cms. Sheffield 1833. Maker John Waterhouse and Edward Hatfield.
These lovely candlesticks are in excellent condition with no damage or restoration. Both sticks are stamped around the bottom edge and on the nozzles. They all have matching date and maker. All pieces have the same hand engraved crest and they are all crisp. A good point is the heavy gauge silver and this is supported by the engraved scratch weight on the stick bases.

Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
