A handsome antique sterling silver wine chalice of plain design with half fluted decoration Hand engraved to the front and reverse are two monograms with intertwined initials in old cursive script. An interesting feature is the medallion inserted within the pedestal base, presumably during manufacture, inscribed “In Memory of the Foundlings Friend 1803”.. Contains 400 ml. Weight 370 grams, 11.8 troy ounces. With English silver hallmarks (worn) to the body for London 1810. Maker Robert Metham. Not gilded inside.
This useful silver cup is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. The engraved monograms are crisp. The silver hallmarks are rubbed although it’s possible to make them out.

Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
