Pair of beautiful pierced silver dishes with original cranberry glass liners each with a cut star to the base. Each dish bears the crest of the Miles family "Sans Crainte" without fear. An Eagle Rising Erminois, Collared, Therefrom A Chain Reflexed Over The Back And Charged On The Breast With A Mill-Rind Sa. The Miles family lived at Keysham Hall Leicestershire which is a house dating back to 1640 with C19th Victorian modernisation. The hallmarks for the makers the Barnard Brothers London 1851 are very clear on both dishes. These dishes were used to serve sweetmeats which were uaually sugared nuts or candies.
