A beautiful antique sterling silver inkstand in the form of a large shell mounted with 2 ink bottles with silver lids and a central box for nibs etc covered by a tall silver taperstick holder. Each piece has matching silver marks and an engraved crest. Weight of silver 896 grams, 28.8 troy ounces. Height of stand 5 cms, total height 16.5 cms. Length 28 cms. Width 25 cms. London 1841. This unusual sterling silver inkstand is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration. Each piece has matching silver marks which are clear and easy to read. The silver bottle collars have a couple of small dents which are hidden by the tops. The glass bottles are original and have no cracks or major chips, just some minor scuffing from use over the years. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
