Elaborate decorative brass name plate to top, with engraving and inscribed with initials and "from T & P 2nd Feb 1874"
Working lock with key. Brass key hole escutcheon.
The brass plates blend beautifully with the colour tones of the coromandel.
With purple water-marked silk to underside of lid. Fitted interior with compartments for stationery items. Made by John Bagshaw & Sons, Liverpool, as evidenced by a small brass plate between the two hinges on the back edge of the top.
