These exceptional antique George III sterling silver butter dishes have a plain scallop shell shaped form.

What would be the umbo, of the natural shell, forms the impressive plain scrolling handpiece to each dish.

Each shell is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting a hawk ringed.

These fine pieces of antique silverware are each supported by two nautilus style shell feet.

These large butter shells are an exceptional pair and are the finest examples of their type you could hope to acquire.
