This fine antique Edward VIII English sterling silver sugar caster has a cylindrical form in the lighthouse style, onto a domed spreading circular foot.

The surface of the caster is plain and is encircled with an embossed girdle.

The caster is fitted with the original hallmarked detachable bayonet style cover.

The cover is embellished with pierced stylised floral motifs decoration and a plain applied border to the rim.

The domed upper portion of the cover is encircled with embossed fluted decoration and surmounted by an impressive fluted rounded finial.

The domed foot of this impressive caster is also ornamented with fluted decoration.
