The pieces of this impressive antique George IV sterling silver 3 piece tea set consist of a teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl.

Each piece has an oval, rounded shaped form onto four Regency style, bracket feet.

The lower portion of each piece is embellished with embossed fluted decoration incorporating a vacant scroll decorated cartouche to either side.

The teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl are all ornamented with an applied gadroon decorated border to the upper rim.

The teapot is fitted with a hallmarked flush hinged cover ornamneted with fluted decoration to the domed portion and surmounted with the original impressive sterling silver floral finial; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of the service.

Each piece is fitted with a C scroll handle ornamented with an impressive applied leaf decorated thumbpiece.

The cream jug and sugar bowl both feature a gilt interior.

The teapot is fitted with a plain swan necked spout with a stylised fluted leaf design to the underside.

Each piece is supported by four Regency style bracket feet embellished with applied floral and leaf decoration.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each piece and part hallmarks as expected, to the cover and handle are all very clear; the marks to the teapot are worn, in keeping with age and location, but remain legible.
