A rare 19thc Boxwood Linen / Laundry Marker by Gilbertson of London, stamped underneath with the makers name....probably Henry Gilbertson, of Pilgrim Street and Ludgate Hill.
It would have been used to mark the piece of Linen on its corner, by lifting the ring , placing the linen over the top of pedestal, place the ring down on the linen and then it is marked with ink, which is kept in the base of the marker.

English. C1840-60.
Good condition with original ink marks from years of use.
