The ring has a escutcheon shaped anterior design, which is plain and unembellished, allowing for a personal engraving to be applied if so desired.
The flared ring shoulders are embellished with an engraved decoration, and join with the plain hallmarked shank at a chevron design.
The ring is hallmarked to the interior of the shank with the maker's mark 'JG', the 9 ct gold fineness mark (9.375), the date letter for 1860 (e) and the London Assay Office hallmark (Leopard's head).
