This fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian sterling silver and ivory handled fish servers consists of a serving knife and fork.

The blade of the knife has a shaped form and is embellished to both surfaces with a fine bright cut engraved interlaced scrolling leaf border.

The anterior surface is further ornamented with a realistic scene depicting a fish and eel, presumably just caught, displayed on the riverbank.

The anterior and reverse surface of the fork is ornamented with bright cut engraved interlaced angular scrolling leaf decoration.

The servers are fitted with fine and impressive shaped carved rounded ivory handles encircled with stylised leaf decoration and a subtle ribbed border around the lower portion.

Both servers have embossed decorated ferrules ornamented with gadroon decoration.

These fish servers are fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior, bearing the retailer’s mark ‘Ollivant & Botsford, Goldsmiths, St Ann Street, Manchester’.

The box secures with a push fit catch.
