The lower portion of the plain, waisted bell shaped capitals are embellished with embossed fluted decoration.
Each chamber candlestick retains the original detachable hallmarked sconce and the original detachable hallmarked snuffer.
The snuffers have a conical form and are embellished with scrolling leaf ornamentations to the pegs in addition to simplified urn style finials.
The sconce, snuffer and wax pan of each chamberstick is ornamented with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting a double-headed (bicapitate) eagle displayed, below an earl's coronet.
The rims of the wax pans and sconces are encompassed with further applied thread decorated borders; the border to each base incorporates a rounded collared design to each incurve.
Each antique silver chamberstick is fitted with a scrolling handle featuring a chased scrolling thumbpiece and receiver socket for the snuffer.
The underside of each base bears the retailer's mark 'Hunt & Roskell, Late Storr Motimer & Hunt' in addition to the registration number '5048'.
These exceptional chambersticks, crafted by the renowned and collectable London silversmith John Samuel Hunt, are an exceptional gauge and quality of their type.

The bright cut engraved crests are very crisp and the embossed and chased decoration is very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside of each chamberstick, to the sleeve of the sconces and the surface of the snuffers are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of antique Victorian silverware.
