The body, foot and neck of the claret jug are embellished with applied and chased woodland flora and fauna decoration accented with strapwork framed chased decorated masks.
The decoration to the body incorporates a vacant bordered oval cartouche to the front.
The jug is further embellished with chased mask and scroll decoration to the underside of the pouring lip and to the hinged cover.
This fine Victorian claret jug is fitted with a large and impressive C scroll handle embellished with an figurehead ornament to the upper portion.
The circular pedestal foot is embellished with two bands of embossed and chased mask, strapwork and laurel decoration.
