Antique Victorian Scottish Sterling Silver and Ivory Fruit/Dessert Service

The blades of the knives have a plain rounded form and the forks each have four tines/prongs.
The anterior and posterior surface of each knife and fork blade is plain an unembellished.
Each piece of this silver cutlery set is fitted with the original carved ivory handle with an incurved terminal ornamented with the stained initial 'W'.
All the knives and forks retain the original hallmarked sterling silver ferrules ornamented with bands of embossed decoration.
Each piece is fitted to the fine and impressive original hinged oak canteen box with a lift up lid, retaining the original velvet and satin lining.
The interior of the box bears the retailer's mark 'By appointment, Hamilton & Inches, Edinburgh'.
This impressive canteen box is ornamented with brass fittings, including a vacant shaped cartouche and escutcheon.
This service was crafted by the renowned Scottish silversmiths Hamilton & Inches
