The surface of the pepper grinder is plain and unembellished.
The body of the grinder features a globular glass comparment.
This impressive piece of antique silverware retains the original hallmarked cover featuring the original hallmarked functional grinding handle with a turned painted wood fingerpiece.
The cover is further surmounted by a central sterling silver ball style finial, which when unscrewed provides access to permit the globular glass compartment to be filled.
The underside of the grinder retains the original grille which bears the mark 'Deposé' to the horizontal securing bar.
