Antique Victorian Sterling Silver and Ivory Fruit/Dessert Service for Twelve Persons

The blade of each knife has a rounded, sabre style form and the forks have three tines.
The surface of the drop to each fork and one side of the knife blade is embellished with impressive bright cut engraved scrolling leaf decoration.
Each piece of this service is fitted with an exceptional and large carved ivory pistol grip shaped handle ornamented with large scrolling leaf designs accented with foliate textures.
Each piece is fitted to the fine and impressive original hinged mahogany canteen box with a lift up lid and lift out tray.
The interior of the box retains the original velvet and satin lining, incorporating the retailer's mark 'Manufacturing Jewellers & Silversmiths E.H Lawley & Sons Ltd, 24 New St, Birmingham'.
This impressive canteen box is ornamented with brass fittings, including a vacant shaped cartouche and escutcheon.
