The pieces of this fine, composite antique Victorian sterling silver flatware service for twenty-four persons have been crafted in fiddle, thread and shell pattern.

The reverse of each item of the core service is embellished with diamond heel decoration.

The solid sterling silver fish service knives have rounded shaped blades.

This flatware service consists of 218 pieces:

Basic Service:
24 Table knives
24 Table forks
24 Table spoons
24 Dessert knives
24 Dessert forks
24 Dessert spoons
24 Fish knives
24 Fish forks
24 Teaspoons

Additional Pieces:
Gravy spoon
Pair sauce ladles

The fundamental pieces of this flatware service have been crafted by the renowned London cutlery maker George Adams of London between 1841 and 1875, apart from the fish service (crafted by Roberts & Belk in 1991 and C J Vander in 1965) and replacement table and dessert knives* (by DJS in 1973).

Twelve settings and the additional items of this cutlery service are fitted to a canteen box; the remaining twelve settings are supplied in felt cutlery rolls, which not only protect the items in storage but significantly reduces tarnishing.

The fine and impressive mahogany canteen box has a lift up lid, well and two drawers, with brass carry and drawer handles.

The box lid is embellished with a central vacant shield shaped brass cartouche.

*Predominately all antique silver canteens have replacement knives as the originals have not stood the test of time.
