The body of the mug is ornamented with a fine and impressive bright cut engraved scrolling motif bordered oval panel to either side depicting a floral and foliate arrangement to one and fruiting ornamentation to the other.
The decoration to the body incorporates a bordered vacant cartouche to the centre.
The upper rim and base are encircled with fine and impressive applied bead decorated borders.
The silver mug is fitted with an impressive opposing scroll handle with chased leaf decorated thumbpiece and sockets.
This fine example of antique silverware retains the original gilt interior.
This exceptional mug was crafted by the renowned London silversmiths Edward & John Barnard.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface are all slightly rubbed due to their location and in keeping with age, but remain legible.
