The body of this piece of antique silverware is embellished with impressive bright cut engraved scrolling leaf designs accented with floral garlands and sprays.
The decoration to the mug incorporates a central shaped scroll and leaf bordered cartouche displaying the fine and impressive contemporary engraved initials ‘RWG’ above the date ‘1890’.
The mug is fitted with a plain rounded C shaped handle.
This impressive example of Victorian silverware retains the original gilded interior.
This mug is fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box with satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch.
The interior of the box bears the retailer’s mark ‘Hall & Co, Silversmiths, Manchester’ and the underside of the mug displays ‘Hall & Co, Kings St, Manchr’.
