Look at what I found on the Online Galleries website!
The surface of this Victorian silver vinaigrette is plain and embellished with the original gilding, in addition to an impressive cabochon hardstone to the underside.
The hinged cover features a plain thumbpiece which allows access to the original hinged, pierced floral and leaf decorated gilt grille.
The cover is ornamented with the contemporary engraved presentation inscription ‘Xmas 1866’.
The interior of the cover bears the mark of the important London silversmith Sampson Mordan & Co.
