The body of the cup is embellished with embossed and chased floral and scrolling leaf decoration accented with Scottish thistle designs.
The decoration to the body incorporates a large scroll and leaf bordered vacant shaped cartouche to either side.
The cup is fitted with two fine and impressive scrolling handles ornamented with fine and impressive bead and leaf designs and scrolling lower terminals.
The upper socket has a trefoil shaped form embellished with subtly layered textured chased decoration. The lower socket is ornamented with a scrolling quatrefoil shaped design.
The knop to the plain pedestal is encircled with an impressive applied shaped band of stylised petal decoration.
The foot is embellished with impressive chased opposing scrolling leaf decoration to the upper portion with a plain shaped collet style rim.
This presentation cup retains the original gilt interior.
This fine example of Victorian silverware is fitted to a circular ebonised wood plinth, with two vacant silver inscription bands; each band may be engraved with a personal inscription if so desired.

The gilding shows some signs of wear in keeping with age.
The chased and embossed decoration is very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the cup are all very clear; the maker’s mark was not deeply struck and shows signs of wear, due to the location.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of Victorian silverware.
