The body of the silver spirit kettle is embellished with exceptional chased floral ornamentation accented with opposing scrolling borders and panels of scale motifs.
The decoration to this Victorian piece incorporates a large scroll and leaf bordered cartouche to either side.
This antique silver kettle is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover encircled with further chased floral decoration accented with a continuation of flat chased leaf textures from the upper portion of the body.
The cover is surmounted with the exceptional and original cast sterling silver pinecone style finial, securing to the interior with a wing nut.
This fine and large example of antique teaware is fitted with an impressive hinged, cast sterling silver scrolling handle ornamented with impressive floral and mystical fish/Victorian dolphin decorated terminals and large, cast floral and scrolling leaf sockets in junction with the body.
The plain arched handpiece of the handle is embellished with further flat chased ornamentation depicting a stylised scrolling leaf and floral design.
The impressive cast silver spout is embellished with concave fluted decoration accented with leaf textures to the lobed socket, in addition to a scrolling leaf design to the lip.
The exceptional kettle detaches from the original hallmarked stand, supported by three impressive cast sterling silver legs identical to the antique dolphin terminals of the handle.
Each leg terminates with a large scrolling, undulating leaf decorated foot.
The stand incorporates suspended cast and pierced scrolling leaf decoration with pensile floral designs conjoining the legs, in addition to scrolling leaf and bud ornamentation to the swept upper portion.
The stand incorporates a plain scrolling frame which retains the associated hallmarked detachable spirit burner; confirming an associated burner assayed in Glasgow in 1853.
The spirit kettle stand is fitted with the original chains and security pegs.
The underside of the kettle bears the retailer's mark 'Lambert, Coventry St, London', amidst the full hallmarks.
