The surface of the bowl is embellished with concave fluted decoration accented with alternating leaf and floral bands, all in a swirl design.
The decoration to the body of the sugar bowl incorporates a scroll bordered cartouche displaying a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of an eagle displayed encompassed with a belted motto 'Caesar Auguste'.
The bowl is fitted with the original domed hallmarked cover, which is subdivided with further concave fluted decoration and floral and leaf sprays.
The cover is surmounted with an impressive sterling silver finial.
This antique bowl is supported by a pierced decorated circular foot ornamented with interlacing scrolling leaf designs accented with floral motifs to the shaped rim.
The interior of this impressive bowl and cover retain the original gilding.
This impressive Victorian piece was crafted by the renowned London silversmith Edward Farrell.
