The shaped, rounded body of the teapot is embellished with applied and chased scrolling lead and floral spray decoration, incorporating a large opposing scroll bordered cartouche to either side.
The flared upper rim is encircled with an impressive applied floral and scroll border.
This Victorian silver teapot is fitted with a hallmarked hinged domed panelled cover surmounted with the original, fine and impressive hallmarked sterling silver floral and foliate finial.
The impressive C scroll handle is ornamented with a large single leaf design which is incorporated into the shaped thumbpiece.
The upper and lower sockets are embellished with further impressive chased leaf ornamentation.
The impressive ribbed swan necked spout is ornamented with exceptional applied and chased foliate designs to the lower portion in addition to a tiered leaf design to the lip.
The teapot is supported by four fine and impressive chased scrolling leaf decorated bracket style feet accented with floral buds and a leaf texture.
This antique teapot is an exceptional example of its type; at 30 troy ounces it exceeds the average weight of a teapot of this style and period.
