* The castle, situated in Kenilworth (warwickshire, England), is a listed building and a Scheduled Monument. This semi-royal palace took many centuries to build and has been expanded signifcantly since the foundations in the 12th century. Part of the castle was destroyed in the 17th century leaving only two buildings to the present day; rendering this illustration as a memory of a grand structure. The castle became famous from the works of Sir Walter Scott who brought attention to the location during the Victorian period.
