A pewter Liberty & Co Tudric clock, designed by Archibald Knox. Dating from around 1902. The pewter inlaid with mother of pearl or abalone strips in the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The design augmented by a rich blue green enamel dial typical of Liberty & Co's design of the period.

This is an exceptional example of Knox’s modernist work, almost art deco in style. Variants of this model 0252 can be seen in Dr Stephen Martin's book "Archibald Knox" on pages 240 and 241. This clock also features in Paul Carter Robinson's book "20th Century Pewter", page 118.
As is typical, the original abalone has in parts crazed but retains its lustre. There is a small firing crack to the enamel dial. Overall the clock presents in excellent condition.
