An Art Deco Harem Dancer Sculpture by Belgian artist Georges Abel Van de Voorde has wonderful features. Depicting a young woman in a dancing pose, cold-painted silver and green and mounted on a substantial black and variegated marble base. Van de Voorde renderings of women during the art deco period show graceful movement , and this is one of his most iconic pieces. His signature can be found etched lightly in the marble.

Van de Voorde showed his work in many national and international exhibitions during his lifetime (born 1878, died 1964). He sculpted in a wide variety of mediums: clay, stone, ivory, wood, spelter and bronze and he created several large public monuments including that of St. John Nepomucenus in Kortrijk, Belgium, his birthplace.
